FAIR OFFICIALS WANT YOU TO “GET HAPPY!”
With a tip of the hat to the old Partridge Family television show, the organizers of this year’s Central Washington State Fair want you to come to this year’s Fair and “Get Happy.” The 70’s TV show’s theme song has a line in it that says “come on, get happy.” “Get Happy” was announced today as the theme for this year’s Fair.
“Our Fair has often been described by our patrons as a fun, happy place,” said Fair president and general manager Greg Stewart. “So we want our theme for 2010 to be an invitation to everyone to come out, enjoy all the fair has to offer, and to get happy!”
Stewart and the staff of the Fair are working hard to bring together the next edition of the annual early fall event.
“We don’t have all of our entertainment and attractions in place yet,” Stewart said. “But I can tell you that we are going to have a number of new fun, family attractions at this year’s Fair.”
Of course the Fair will again present a variety of great food, animals, carnival rides, exhibits and displays that makes it the largest single family entertainment event of the year. There is no word on whether the Partridge Family will be on hand to sing their theme song.
This year’s Central Washington State Fair runs from September 24 through October 3 in Yakima.
