EARLY SEASON FAIR ADMISSION PASS

OFFERS BIG SAVINGS

The Central Washington State Fair is still some seven months away, but frugal fairgoers can buy now and save big bucks on Fair admission with the return of the popular “un-Leap Year” special.  The offer allows Fair patrons a chance to buy a special season long pass for just $35.  The pass gets the holder into the Fair every day of the 10-day long event.  The pass, which is actually season-long, photo ID admission badge, is a $120 value. The badge is only available for purchase from February 1 through February 27, and can be purchased at the State Fair Park Box Office.

“This is the third year that we have offered this special early purchase pass,” said Fair President Greg Stewart.  “We’ve had such great response the past two years, we wanted to offer it again this year.”

The first year that the Fair offered the special admission pass, it was 2008, which was a leap year, and the special was called a “Leap Year Special.”  Last year and this year it is called the “un-Leap Year Special.”  Stewart said that surveys show that a good percentage of fairgoers return to the Fair a number of times during the ten days, so it gives folks a chance to really save some money on multiple admissions.

Because fair time entertainment is free to all fairgoers, the ID badge is also good for all of the concerts and shows during the Fair.  The special un-Leap Year photo ID badge is good for all ages, but is non-transferable.  Kids 5 and under are always free.  These passes are strictly for admission to the Fair itself and do not include carnival rides or parking.  A voucher will be given to those who purchase the special season photo ID, and they will have their photo taken and badge made just prior to the Fair in September.

Those interested in purchasing season passes must do so between Monday, February 1 and Saturday, February 27 at the State Fair Park Box Office, 1301 S. Fair Avenue, Yakima.  To order by fax or mail, please download the application from the Fair website at www.fairfun.com and look under “Deals and Discounts.”  Please no phone orders.

The 2010 Fair runs from September 24 through October 3 in Yakima.
