FOOD STILL THE NUMBER ONE ATTRACTION AT THE FAIR
Year in and year out the number one attraction at the Central Washington State Fair is the food. People come from all over to enjoy the different foods that they find only one time a year---during the ten day fair in Yakima.
And this year is no different. With more than 60 different food booths and vendors, the fair will once again offer up a variety of foods to please almost any pallet.
All of the fair favorites from hamburgers and hot dogs, corn dogs and lamb burgers, to elephant ears and caramel apples will be available again, but this year there will be some new items to try.
According to Fair Food Concessions manager Judy Buermann, there will be a number of new foods to tempt fairgoers including deep fried ice cream, apple dumplings, strawberry chocolate waffle balls and huckleberry ice cream.
Buermann says that fairgoers will find foods from a variety of countries as well including Italian, Thai, Mexican, Greek, along with British Fish and Chips and of course, all kinds of all-American foods.
From breakfast to dinner, and full course meals to snacks and desserts, the Central Washington State Fairs food vendors will be serving it all starting Friday.
The Central Washington State Fair runs through October 4 in Yakima.
